The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and Karaganda State University named after E. Buketov hosted, 6 November 2019, the 2ndscientific and practical conference of participants of the International Network AML/CFT Institute "Digital Economy in the National Security Context." The conference, held via video conference, was attended by representatives of Rosfinmonitoring and the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring (ITMCFM).
This forum is a platform for discussions, analysis of the latest trends and exchange of scientific and practical experiences, ideas and opinions on scientific research and existing practices concerning such highly relevant topics as digital finance, regulation of legal aspects, education reforms and information-flow security.
In his opening remarks to the conference participants, Vladimir Glotov, Deputy Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service and Director of the Institute of Financial and Economic Security MEPhI, said, "This year has seen the launch of the double diploma programmes in the "Economic Security" and "Project Management" fields. This is a real breakthrough that contributes to the strengthening of relations between the countries of partner universities and the creation of international educational space. In the framework of modern digitalization policies and reforms affecting not only the information space but also the models of the leading business communities, the security of personal data and leveraging end-to-end technologies from the perspective of information security are primary objectives."
As noted by Vladimir Uzhva, Vice-Rector of MEPhI, a leading university within the INI’s structure, agreements on the use of joint network training programmes allow us to train the future of digital economies: junior experts who will counter the emerging threats in the area of national security.
"The first step taken by us towards the implementation of the double diploma programme is an important achievement which will safeguard the national security of our countries," said S. Karstina, Head of the Department of Postgraduate Studies at Karaganda State University named after E. Buketov.
According to A. Frolova, Head of HR and Anti-Corruption Department of Rosfinmonitoring, such events promote experience sharing and emergence of topics and new practices for both students and teachers: "This dialogue between INI’s universities enables us, on the one hand, to harmonize our approaches to educational processes, and on the other hand, to promote a diversity of practices and topics."
After the round table, participants continued working within thematic sections hosted by MEPhI and Karaganda State University named after E. Buketov.
